While they are a bit fiddly to install (especially in a 20 degree hangar), the snow chains work well to provide grip on snow and ice in front of the hangar. Without the chains, it would be impossible to push the plane up the slight grade into the hangar. With the chains, the tug is able function. The chains do not work smoothly on dry pavement patches, but do move the plane along. These are a good addition for those who are based in a climate where ice and snow are present during the winter months.
