5 of 5 minimix tug for TB20 September 28, 2024
Reviewer: Jim Sievers from Verdi, NV United States
TB20 in Reno, NV
I just had to share with you that last Sunday, I went out to take a flight in my TB20 and took the Minitug with me. Even with my jury rig clamp, I was impressed with how the tub allowed me to move my aircraft so easily. My ramp has about a 20-degree slope and a minimal door track above ground. The 3090 lb. plane moved easily in and out of the hanger. I even had the speed of the drill on High and felt no load at all. The bar makes directional control extremely precise and easy.
I'm looking forward to replacing my jury rig clamp with the new one you sent me.

Love your Minitug.
Jim in Verdi, NV

3 of 5 Very nice design - but needs more power June 11, 2018

From Minimax Sales Team: Have you gotten the airport to lay asphalt to eliminate the 1-1/2 inch high door curb?  Ramps are another option.

I had high expectations for this electric tug. I read the reviews and have great respect for the late Louis H of Pasadena, CA so I figured if Louis was satisfied then this electric tug would be good for me. My aircraft hangar floor is concrete and there's a 1.5" lip between the exterior asphalt and the hangar floor. Before I purchased this tug I'd get a running start, just me alone, and literally bounce the aircraft over the 1.5" concrete lip into the hangar. I'm 65 years old and pushing the 2,400 pound plane up a 2 percent grade and over a 1.5" lip into my hangar is strenuous and is taking a toll on my aged body.  I thought this Mini Tug would be a solution to all my aging woes. To my disappointment, the Mini Tug will not push my aircraft over the 1.5" hangar concrete lip, even with my assist, which was the primary reason I purchased the Tug. Sadly, my brand new Mini Tug is now collecting dust.

5 of 5 Minmax Tug for Socata Trinidad TB-20 March 14, 2017
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Morristown, New Jersey
I bought one prior to buying my Trindad.  Its about $500 cheaper than the competitor.  I have used it for about 1/2 year and I must say that it works great.  The only issue is that when it reaches the lip of the hanger, I need to push a bit on the prop, but that is expected and in any event, no problem.  Thanks.

5 of 5 Socata TB20/21 Tug November 1, 2016
Reviewer: Louis H from Pasadena, CA
I purchased the Socata TB20/21 battery electric tow bar from MiniMax Tugs. The design of this tug is quite elegant: it hooks directly onto the tow bar attachment point with a pin, without any mechanical clutter. It is based on the powerful 28-volt Milwaukee Li battery and drill motor. The friction between the nose-gear tire and the roller of the tug is variable based on need: need more friction, push down more on the tow bar or vice versa. I asked for a 10-millimeter pin to have a wobble-free mating to the 10-mm hole on the nose gear and they did it in a few days. They ship in a few days. The company communicates well (Greg, their design engineer), their price point is good, and de device works well. I think it is a particularly clever design: simple and efficient. Their home pages are detailed and provide good applications guidance.
